Collages
COLLECTION AW 22

The forms of this new series were drawn with scissors from sheets of paper by a Danish artist, then arranged into abstract, contemporary collages. Vibrant and cheerful color combinations add contrast and a sense of depth. Weaves in Pure Merino wool, Pure Silk, or fine Wool-Cashmere blends, bring a sense of smooth comfort and warmth.

Inspired by the works of renowned Danish pioneers of Abstract Art, the collage-style series is a gracious nod to the long-standing cultural bond between Denmark and France. From 1947 to 1956, a small community of painters and sculptors lived and worked in the Maison des Artistes Danois in Suresnes and were represented by the same art gallery in Paris. One of these famous residents eventually founded the CoBrA Movement in a Parisian café on Quai Saint Michel, in 1948. The Danske Kunsternhus i Suresnes no longer exists, but it certainly fostered the creative process of many prominent artists.
